State-of-the-art Equipment for Home Inspections

Hi-Tech Home Inspection Equipment

At Professional Home Inspections Inc. we utilize state-of-the-art electronic home inspection equipment such as: Thermal Imaging Cameras (Infrared Cameras) Moisture Meters, Radon Gas Detectors, Laser Thermometers and Digital Cameras equipped with Telephoto Lenses to reduce the risk of an error.

A Good House Inspector's Tools-of-the-Trade

Thermal Imaging Camera Thermal Imaging Camera - Without thermal imaging, some things go unseen. We can see what others only guess about! The thermal images can help reveal problems about moisture (which may be conducive to mold, decay and termites), electrical system hot spots, deficient insulation, heating, cooling and duct systems (HVAC), structural issues, plumbing leaks, and more. (This camera is extemely expensive and requires specialed training, presently available exclusively with R. Edwards)
Laser Thermometer Laser Thermometer - Used for many purposes such as: Measuring temperature of the hot water supply on each floor, check basement walls to discover whether or not they are insulated. scan electrical panels for hot circuits, measure temperature at heat/cool registers to balance the HVAC system room by room.
Anemometer Anemometer - Measures wind velocity when completing air samplying, (mold testing). Also measures interior and exterior temperature, humidity and wind chill along with dew point.
Hygrometer Hygrometer - Measures humidity precisely and logs changes.
Air Samplying PumpAir Samplying Pump - Used to draw a measured sample of air from either exterior or interior areas, this instrument is calibrated with each use, and is essential in mold screening.
Electrical Circuit TesterElectrical Circuit Tester - Confirms polarity, neutral and ground condition for each electrical circuit tested. Indicates type of fault is discovered.
AmmeterAmmeter - Measures the electical amperage of any supply circuit or power line to any device. Can be used to confirm the actual electrical amerage supplied to the home regardless of what appears to be present.
Electronic Moisture MeterElectronic Moisture Meter - Measures the degree of moisture behind a surface such as basement floors and walls to determine if higher moisture levels may lead to wet basment conditions. Confirms if repaired cracks in foundation walls are water tight. Measures the actual moisture content of wood flooring or drywall areas where a previous leak may have occured. Indicates if there is higher than typical moisture behind ceramic tiles in bathrooms.
Carbon Monoxide DetectorCarbon Monoxide Detector - Measures the amount of carbon dioxide within an interior space to determne if a fuel burning device, ( furnace, gas fireplace, wood stove, gas hot water heater), is emitting any CO which is very hazardous.
Water Pressure and Water Flow MeterWater Pressure and Flow Meter - Used at rural country properties to measure well performance but not recovery rate. Indicates actual flow rate in gallons per minute and actual water pressure.
